PACKING

Updated: Jun 26, 2018

As my weeks come to an end and my family prepares to pack for the journey down south, I figured these few packing tips would help anyone who's interested in traveling here one day (potentially during their winter). Overall, I think I packed pretty well; although I could have gone without a few things in exchange for some other necessities.

Things I'm glad I packed:

  • An outlet converter AND a power strip (to charge my phone and computer)

  • Variety of shoes (casual, formalish, flats, gym shoes, tall black boots)

  • American candy (Reese's PB Cups, Kitkat)

  • School ID (still get student di$count$!)

  • Black teacher pants going with various cute tops

  • Lunch box

  • Neck pillow for the plane

  • A book

  • laptop (not just an iPad!)

  • Necklaces that can go with any outfit (black, white, silver, gold)

Things I could've gone without:

  • My fancy favorite purple shoes

  • Yoga mat (I know, I know, dad)

  • Extra teacher shirts

Things I wish I brought:

  • My own pillow, although that would take up lots of room (so probably should've just bought a harder one here; makes it easier to fall asleep if it's what you're use to at home)

  • Going out clothes / nightlife attire

  • More underwear; then you don't have to rely on laundry every two weeks!

  • Gloves (I brought a hat, but no gloves)

  • Pictures (memories, not family or people necessarily because that would make me homesick)

  • More fuzzy socks and maybe one more sweatshirt

  • Maybe a backpacking back pack and not just my rowing backpack?
