How else better to celebrate your last weekend teaching than at a BALL? It was just like in the movies. The dancers, the dresses, the red carpet, it was all ~extravagant~
One of the teachers at my school invited me to this ball only after the first week of
knowing me...I was hoping she wouldn't get tired of the crazy American by the end of term when the ball was (thankfully, she didn't in case you were wondering). We ended up getting ready together with her two friends and we ordered some lovely pizza and some NZ wine. Getting short on time, we were waiting about an hour for 2 dominoes pizzas. Having quite the adventure finding the deliverer, we were all at peace and no longer hangry (hungry + angry). This night was starting off with quite the win.
Once we finally get fed, dressed, and ready, off to the ball we go in our pumpkin with coachmen (aka uber). We arrived and I was introduced to my host teacher's son and then stepped right on the red carpet.
Minutes later, walked onto the dance floor and the view was indescribable. Filled with women in gorgeous dresses, men looking stunning in their suits, with lights, decorations, and dancers embellishing the room. Altogether an unforgettable sight, even after a few glasses of wine! To top that, the balcony even overlooked the lit up bridge over the harbour. As the social butterfly I am, I met a few friends I was lucky to snap some pictures with remembering the night.
By maybe half past one in the morning, I was exhausted and ready for a good sleep...after all, I had church in the morning! We danced and sung the night away and I turned back into a pumpkin...I mean the carriage...uber did. Whatever it was, I got home safe and sound and jumped into my jammies ready for bed. As Mamma Mia quotes,
~ "What a night" ~
