Everything is always easier said than
done. When it comes to creating assessments, teachers strive to develop the most effective tool to collect the most accurate data. However, there is no universal checklist to evaluate the accuracy of assessments. So, how can we know the assessments we're using or creating meet our needs, as evaluators, of student learning?
In Michigan State University's MAET Program, one course (#CEP813) focuses on assessment design and development. This week, we're exploring and brainstorming larger questions to consider as we create new (formative and summative) assessments. My Assessment Design Checklist reflects aspects of assessments that are important to me. My first few questions highlight measurement and effectiveness.
